I have been working in clay for the past 12 years, since leaving the healthcare field. My connection with the clay is “tactile”; I love the feel of the clay in hands!  I consider myself a maker, working on the wheel, to “throw”  the wares.  I love the feel of the clay, in all the various stages of making, ie. throwing, altering, trim, slip or carve designs, firing twice before completing with the glazing stage. Each pot is different, a bit unique – with handcrafted work, no two pots are the same.

NC is rich in the pottery tradition, full of a community of international potters, right here. I have had the good fortune to work with many potters, learning from their experience, their knowledge, and gaining inspiration from this supportive community of artists. Wisdom is gained from many failures, some successes, and readily shared among all.

My work is functional, made to be held, used, and enjoyed, with food safe glazes.
